After an uneventful flight from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City and a quick stop at the hotel in downtown Salt Lake, it was off to Park City, about thirty miles east of downtown. Park City's downtown (139) has a lot of charm and is the home of many upscale shops and restaurants. The town is primarily a ski resort and also home to Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival in January; at that time, new films are shown not only in Park City but also all over the Salt Lake City area. Redford owns a restaurant in addition to a lot of other property in downtown Park City.
This time of year is known as the mud season (translated: the slopes are muddy so consider it the off season) and about half the restaurants were closed until sometime in June. After a quick walk around town and a great dinner in a French restaurant on the main street, it was back to the hotel in Salt Lake City.
