Mid-day drive
In the late morning, guests are given the option of a walk in the bush (outside the vehicles). We left by vehicle to go to a spot to start the walk but saw so much game on the way that we decided to cancel the walk and have a mini-drive. Highlights included hippo and rhino plus two lazy lions who were sacked out for the day. We saw the same lions later in the day (see later pictures) and they had moved slightly around the tree to stay in the shade. They usually are hungry in the late afternoon and go out looking for some prey.
The inside of our "cabin" was quite luxurious--this was not roughing it in the bush.
