The Hollenkamps Watch the Wright Brothers Fly
Letter written in May, 1910 by Louise Hollenkamp (3) to Charles and Elizabeth Hollencamp (Father Charles' parents), traveling in Europe. At that time, Louise and Theodore Hollenkamp had been married less than two months. Note the reference to going out to watch the Wright Brothers fly. Despite seeing this early Wright Brothers flight in 1910, Louise Hollenkamp never flew on an airplane during the fifty-six remaining years of her life.
