Saturday, July 3, 2004--Afternoon/evening picnic with hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, sides, desserts and beverages at the home of Pat Hollenkamp and Bertil Sollenskog, north of Chicago near Waukegan/Deep Lake in Lake Villa. Besides the good food and company, there was swimming (pool and lake), Jacuzzi, badminton, games, fishing and boat rides. The picnic began around noon with food service commencing about 3 PM.
Sunday, July 4--Brunch at the elegant Country Squire Restaurant, the former Sears mansion. The restaurant provided an excellent brunch. Historians in the crowd appreciated the Sears connection, the workplace of Uncle Joe Hollenkamp for his entire career. The brunch included comments from our historian, Robert Schoenberger, and other remarks by Joe Hollenkamp and Ed Steiner. Each cousin spoke briefly about their own immediate family.
