California Touring

We spent three very pleasant days with relatives in Santa Monica on the way to China.  While there, we spent Wednesday, August 18, downtown looking at a couple of LA's new architectural wonders, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and the Walt Disney Concert Hall.  Although we were not able to attend a concert at the Disney hall, we did sit in on one at the cathedral.  Both buildings are very unusual architecturally and well worth viewing.

The following day we made the 40 mile journey to Simi Valley to view the Ronald Reagan Library and Museum.  There is a great deal to see at the museum and the site's facilities are somewhat overwhelmed by crowds due to the recent death of the former president.  We visited his grave, high on the hill overlooking the valley, and recalled his funeral service a few months earlier at this site.
